Job Description
A Structural Engineer in the Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) industry is responsible for designing, analyzing, and ensuring the stability, strength, and durability of steel structures. They work closely with architects, project managers, and site engineers to ensure that buildings are safe, cost-effective, and meet regulatory standards.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Structural Design & Analysis:
Design steel structures, frames, and connections for PEB projects.
Perform load calculations, stress analysis, and material selection.
Ensure designs comply with codes like IS, AISC, MBMA, or other relevant standards.
2. Drafting & Detailing:
Prepare structural drawings using AutoCAD, Tekla, STAAD Pro, or other software.
Coordinate with detailers to create fabrication and erection drawings.
3. Coordination & Communication:
Work with architects, clients, and project teams to finalize designs.
Provide technical guidance to site engineers and erection teams.
4. Quality & Safety Assurance:
Ensure structural integrity and safety during design and execution.
Conduct inspections and troubleshoot structural issues on-site.
5. Project Management & Documentation:
Maintain reports, calculations, and approvals for design changes.
Monitor project timelines to ensure smooth execution.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education: B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Civil/Structural Engineering.
Software Knowledge: STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, Tekla, SAP2000, etc.
Experience: 3-10 years in PEB/steel structure design.
Key Skills: Structural analysis, load calculations, connection design, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
